Rinsing an underwater camera

Salt can remain in controls even when a housing looks clean.

Rinsing an underwater camera

Safety and training

General field notes, not a dive plan. Stay within your training, follow local site rules and the operator’s briefing.

01

Field observation

With the housing correctly sealed, follow its maker's freshwater-rinse sequence and gently work only the controls it approves. Keep rinse-tank caps and ports protected from collisions.

02

A practical approach

Dry the exterior before opening; inspect the seal and groove in good light, then store the housing according to its manual.
