Propeller awareness around boats
A stopped engine is not permission to swim near a propeller.

Safety and training
General field notes, not a dive plan. Stay within your training, follow local site rules and the operator’s briefing.
Field observation
Listen to the crew's entry and exit instructions and know where the ladder, current line and propellers lie. Boats can drift or restart; a diver at the surface is harder to see than expected.
A practical approach
Signal clearly, stay on the designated approach and keep clear of propulsion until the crew gives the safe-to-board instruction.

Before you go
- Check local conditions and access rules
- Agree limits and the exit with your buddy
- Stop or change the plan if conditions differ
General guidance only. Follow your training, the dive operator’s procedures, and each manufacturer’s current instructions.
